James is a Boorooberongal man of the Darug. As an entrepreneur and business owner, James’ passion is providing community stewardship. Stewardship that will strategically assist in facilitating the improvement of social and economic outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
James envisions a nation which embraces its rich Indigenous history and culture, and values the principles of Indigenous self-determination, entrepreneurship, innovation, and enterprise as integral pillars in a strong national economy. A future where Indigenous Australians are creating sustainable wealth, accumulating assets, economically independent, fulfilling their aspirations and their future generations are; living longer, healthy, strong, thriving and self-determined.
He believes employment, social impact investment, entrepreneurial leadership and stewardship of community are integral to the development of strong and sustainable communities, both now and future. James believes that the key closing the persistent and unacceptable gaps in life outcomes experienced by indigenous people, is to strategically target economic progress. Economic progress that delivers sustainable employment, good health, a safe place to live and a bright future for future generations of Indigenous Australians. Therefore, James believes that economic advancement via either self-employment or maintaining a sustainable job, remains the catalyst for the advancement of indigenous peoples. An advancement which will significantly contribute to closing persistent unacceptable gaps in life outcomes.
James has experienced, providing stewardship and advice to multiple community ATSI Committees and Advisory Groups, was an Inaugural Member of Supply Nation’s IBAG Committee and previous Director of the NSWICC Board.
James believes, the JobTrail initiative is a positive step towards achieving positive change. Positive change that will help facilitate sustainable, prosperous, vibrant and sustainable Indigenous communities.
James has been awarded both a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of International Business (MIB). James has been recognised and professionally graded as both a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders (FIML) and Graduate Member of the Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), whereby he completed the AICD Company Directors Diploma Course.
